Thunder God
First Sea • Easy Difficulty • Level 575+
📍 Location
Upper Skylands
Upper Skylands is an elevated cloud island zone in the First Sea, accessible by flying up from the Skylands area using a fruit, ship, or the Skylands jump pads. The Thunder God spawns at the highest platform of the Upper Skylands — follow the cloud path upward and look for the glowing yellow lightning aura. The arena is an open elevated platform with cloud pillars providing minor cover. Be cautious of the edges — falling from the Upper Skylands leads to the ocean far below.
🎁 Drops
Pole (1st Form), Beli
The Pole (1st Form) is a powerful staff weapon highly sought by melee and sword builds in the First Sea. It's one of the best weapons available at this stage of the game. Beli drops are decent for First Sea progression. With a 10-minute respawn and easy difficulty, Thunder God is one of the most rewarding First Sea bosses to farm relative to the effort required.
⚔️ How to Beat Thunder God
First challenging boss. Stay grounded to avoid lightning strikes.
Thunder God is the first genuinely dangerous boss most new Blox Fruits players encounter in the First Sea. His signature mechanic is his Lightning Strike — he points at the sky and calls down a bolt that hits from above on your current position. The key insight is that this attack targets where you are standing, not where you'll be — so simply start walking in any direction the moment you see him raise his arm, and the lightning bolt will hit your previous position. This is one of the easiest attack mechanics to learn and provides excellent training for dodge-reading skills used in later sea bosses.
Staying grounded is critical in this fight for two reasons: first, Thunder God's lightning attacks have reduced accuracy against ground-level targets compared to airborne ones, as the lightning naturally falls downward; second, staying grounded reduces your risk of being knocked off the floating platform. His melee attacks are a simple 2-hit combo with very clear visual tells — a yellow glow precedes each swing. Time your Instinct dodge to the first swing, then punish with your strongest available combo during the brief pause before his second hit lands. Rinse and repeat — his attack loop is simple once you recognize it.
For First Sea players new to boss encounters, Thunder God teaches the fundamental rhythm that appears in every boss in the game: bait the attack, dodge it, punish the recovery window. Master this rhythm here and every future boss becomes significantly easier. He's also a great target for testing new fruit abilities and sword combos since his low difficulty allows you to experiment without immediately dying. Recommended to fight him at 580-600 for maximum efficiency.
