Cursed Captain is one of the most farmable Second Sea bosses thanks to his 10-minute respawn, making him ideal for players grinding Beli and hunting the Red Spikey Coat. His combat style is straightforward but his grab attack is the single most dangerous move to watch for. When you see him extend his arms forward in a grasping motion with a brief purple glow, immediately dash backward or sidestep — being grabbed locks you in place for 2-3 seconds of sustained damage that can eliminate players who are unprepared or below the recommended level range.
Outside of the grab, Cursed Captain fights with a combination of melee slashes and curse bolts — short-range projectiles that travel in a straight line. The curse bolts are easy to sidestep since they don't track. His melee pattern is a predictable 2-hit combo: a horizontal slash followed by an overhead smash. Both hits can be Instinct-dodged, and the brief recovery after the smash is your optimal punish window. Positioning yourself slightly to his side during his attacks ensures you're outside the primary hitbox while still in range to counter-attack.
